Police have identified the two women who were killed in a two car collision in Moray.The crash occurred around 12.30pm on Tuesday on the A98 between Buckie and Fochabers, close to Enzie and involved a Vauxhall Insignia and a Peugeot 2008.Both Amanda Lawson, 32, of Mosstodloch, who was driving the Vauxhall and Janet Cowie, 77, of Buckie, a passenger in the Peugeot were declared dead at the scene.The Peugeot driver, a 77-year-old man, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by helicopter with serious injuries.
Ms Lawson family said in a statement issued by police: "Amanda was a well-loved partner and mother of three young boys.Family and friends will greatly miss her.The two families have requested that their privacy be observed.Sgt Dave Cooper said: "Our thoughts are still with the family and friends of both ladies who died.Enquiries are still going on to ascertain the exact details of the circumstances and we appeal to anyone who was able to help who has not yet spoken to police to contact us.
